What exactly are mini sessions? Mini sessions are a group of 20 minute sessions, offered during a specific date and time, all in one location. The sessions run back-to-back, to allow me to see as many smiling faces, as possible. This also helps lower the individual rates. With the nature of minis, timeliness is key!
Is it right for me (and my family)? Great question. And I really think this comes down to your photo expectations. Here are some points to consider:
- Do you want a few great photos of your family, done quickly? Then yes, that is exactly what mini sessions are intended for! Do you have a specific shot list you envision? Then a full session may be more your style.
- What are the personalities of your kids? If you are okay with your kids being as they are, whether that is smiling (or not), jumping, climbing, or have very cooperative kids, then mini sessions are great. If you are not confident the shots you want can be nailed in a limited time, then consider a full session. That’ll allow your kids to warm up!
